DatsDope Exclusive - Asher Roth Santa Fe

DatsDope x DDotOmen

Peep The crowd during "I love College"

This was probably the biggest stress day of my life trying to go to this concert at college park last night. I have been hearing about this for months but I guess they were trying to keep this on the down low because it was hard to get tickets. Basically not till like 7 oclock and show letting people in around 8 I was getting in the show.

Before anything I would like thank my man D. Omen and his linking up with Scooter Braun for getting us on Asher List to get it that was definitely a dope move.
Asher had a Great performance and my man was sick during the whole performance so I did not get our interview but yea shout to Asher for a LIVE performance.

So like I said before I linked up with my man and fellow blogger for the DMV D.OMEN from ddotomen. We chilled enjoyed the show got some dope footage of the show met up with some actual fans and peoples of Asher that made it sick. We met up with Peter Rosenberg who was real chill dude and he is local DMV cat and yes a fellow MOCO kid.

But yea shout out D.Omen, Asher Roth, Scooter Braun and also Allison for getting us on that list check out the footage here. - Asher Roth "Lark On My Go Kart" (Live) [4.24.09] from DDotOmen on Vimeo. - Asher Roth "Blunt Cruisin" (Live) [4.24.09] from DDotOmen on Vimeo. - Asher Roth "Blunt Cruisin" (Cont.) Em thinks asher is "DOPE"

Yes Eminem cosigns my man Asher and his thoughts on him:

"Asher Roth, I haven't had a chance to, like, really get into everything, like, really get into what he's about, because I've only hear a couple songs. There was talk about people saying he sounded like me, and he was doing this and that and, you know, trying to take what I do and do it. You know, shit like that. I've heard things. But the stuff that I've heard from him honestly, which certainly isn't enough for me to make my own opinion and say, 'Yeah, he does sound like me' or 'No, he doesn't.' But the couple of songs I've head, I don't really think he does. You know what I mean? He's doing his own thing. I can respect it, too, because at the end of the day, I think he's dope."

Powermat= DOPE

This is probably one of the dopest things I have seen for technology for awhile and have not seen anything worthy until this. I bet you this will be in every house to college dorm room. This powermat charges everything from your phone, cameras to your laptop by just resting the device on there. It will be out this fall.

First off if this true about Asher selling that much big props to him, he does deserve it his CD was dope all the tracks were equally dope and the production good he delivered more than I expected. I had high hopes already but once I heard it he brought higher than expected.

So Rumors have been all over the Internet that in the two days Asleep In The Bread Aisle has sold over 200,000 CRAZY RIGHT he has sold more than Jada sold in a week shit he sold more than

JEEZY did in his first week. So when I heard this I was in class twittering and usual minor blogs I do on my phone and I saw it on some site and just brushed it off, the i saw what TiRon wrote on his page and we were going on about him selling that much(sidenote:Shout out to TiRon even though he tried to go on me for a second for misspelling shit LOL) . Let me just put it out there first I am ASHER ROTH FAN i support everything he does. It is just 200k in two days is ridiculously crazy lol. Anyway before go in further I think the rumors were laid to rest because XXL got a hold of Asher and he said that they only sent out 100k of copies and they were under shipped but then i thought that does not mean anything, there is still ITunes copies online and other sites people purchase from.

If this all right this is pretty great for Hip-Hop in a way that people are supporting real music. But my thing is do you think is because Asher is white or because his music is really dope? I say both if he did sell 200k maybe 50-100k was because it is dope album but the rest really was because Asher was white. Asher is one of the most talented Mc's out that Freshmen class but a lot of those college kids i.e white kid, frat kids are buying this album and none of them really know what HIP-HOP really is not saying you can not be white and really not trying to make this a race thing but if you sell 200k in two days you have to start thinking. But whatever I'm glad he is selling and I don't want to drag this on any longer but I just HOPE that those kids who bought that album just because they hears "I love College" and like getting drunk and chanting "DO SOMETHING CRAZY" really get to understand the whole album and not just analyze Asher Roth as gimmick and some random Hip-Hop character that has one HIT. Asher is far from that his album is crazy and I hope those kids who bought it would enjoy it and see what hip hop really about. From tracks like "Fallin", "As I Em", "His Dream" were really sick. So I hope everyone gets to enjoy this CD and actually listen to this CD and not think of ASHER as the FRAT BOY I LOVE COLLEGE kid who tells you to chug beer because he is more than that maybe be the worst song on the whole album that's how dope this is. So if you do not have it yet check it out and actually enjoy the music and his so called "CHARACTER"

New Artist of the Week

Kris Kasanova

I have been trying to do New Artist of the Week more likely MONTH but with the whole new "Internet Rappers" coming along I thought I will do my own, anyway I think this my second New Artist. Anyway this dude Kris Kasanova is pretty dope I got his info from my friend Cherry she said she been listening to this car for while now and she put me on, so big props to cherry GOOD LOOKS so yea the production on his tracks are pretty dope and his rhyme skills are up there he has a pretty ridiculous flow but yea check his myspace out and check out his other tracks he has.
Check out the freestyle at the bottom

Many of you might be confused from my title. I am surprised that I have not wrote on Drake yet on the blog because what blog has not. I got the idea from this from XXL article on Drake. First time I heard Drake was couple years ago when I heard his Room For Improvement. I am not going lie I faked hard on that because I was like not another person who wants to sing or be a rapper because I did watch Degrassi back in the day so I was really skeptical at first. I started noticing him probably before Comeback Season or a little before because of a incident round my way which his name kept popping up in a argument and only some people will know what I am talking about and that is a whole different topic. Anyway that is what got me hooked on Drakes music. So when the Top 10 Freshmen from XXL. When I saw that I was like ight WALE made it on there and I knew couple of other cats also but I was like where is DRAKE. There is a lot of cats on there that Drake outshines EASILY. Anyway months pass then So Far Gone drops..... ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE lol. The only reason I say that is because I wanted Drake blow up and I was like YES finally he is getting his shine and people realizing his capability. XXL also had the same thoughts I did like about how "Successful" is my favorite track on there. The article also talked about his lyric skills and with seeing the Top 10 and he was not on there made him thrive more for the number 1 spot. “And fans of these freshman is about to get iffy/While this youngin’ that you doubtin’ is about to get busy.” And because I think he was so determined to drop something DOPE is why all of this buzz is going crazy. In matter of months DRIZZY DRAKE has every city going wild from the chicks GEEKIN and OOZIN in there panites off of him to dudes waiting for him to drop the next DOPEST line they can throw on there Twitter and Facebook Status's and having folks Fiening to see him perform. Drake has much more bigger things coming out and has many of us waiting for it. Yea I am a Drizzy Co-Signer and glad he is out there and yea yall see me there like I will see most of yall there when he comes to DMV to perform.
Sidenote: Did yall know his mixtape was so over downloaded they stopped it? LOL crazy aint it.

Classic Ye

This is the Kanye that everyone grew onto the Kanye rocking backpacks lol, I know to me at least this where a lot of folks got the inspiration for many things they doing now. Sheed Knows?

I am thinking of coming up with my own version of Maestro Knows. Created from Levi Maestro, I found out about him from his blog couple weeks ago and got hooked after the Air YEEZY episode but he has these mini shows he has online and I am into all the episodes he has done. Even though he only has 5 lol but that beside the point. Anyway the only reason I dig this is because it is things me and my peoples can do. I have friends and you know which ones out there I am talking about who know we have ADVENTURES FOR DAYS lol. Thing about maestro is that his shows dope are the people he has in there and it is like a mini interview but so chill, I can see myself doing things like that. Really Levi need his own show lol. But yea this episode he is with Dom Kennedy and actually heading to the studio to hear some new songs from FutureStreet/DrugSounds. Check it out and hopefully in couple months most likely this summer you all will get my version "Sheed Knows" HEY YO PICO we getting up on this haha u do have the editing skills

Amanda Diva- Interview (Video)

I wasn't trying to post anything for awhile because I am bout to reach my 100th post real soon and was trying to make it EXTRA DOPE but this is DAT DOPE that it needs to be posted so W/E I am going to do ME, if the 100th post sucks w/e 101th will be dope lol.

First off I am beating my self up for not going to this conference and hearing my girl Amanda Diva go and speak. I saw it on the twitter(sidenote: catch me on the twitter she was going be there and was loafing on trying to get up there. Anyway I am glad my man DDOT OMEN got an EXCLUSIVE interview with lovely and talented AMANDA DIVA. She was at UMD campus and was there talking at the Hip Hop conference they had on campus. She goes on talk about her latest mix tape Amanda Diva’s Spandex Rhymes & Soul. If you don't have it now go and download it ASAP, I've been trying to follow Amanda work for awhile with alot of her poetry and interviews she does I catch online I think I might actually have one her performing on Def Poetry Jam I believe but yea Mixtape is Dope. My man DDot did his thing in this interview he had with her and he actually did review the album and that's how I got into it so if you want to see it look at this review. But yea big ups DDOTOMEN.COM for the exclusive interview and hey son if you reading this next big one I BETTER BE THERE LOL or at least give me SHOUT OUT. x - Amanda Diva Interview [4.13.09] from DDotOmen on Vimeo.

100K yea JADA

So this post wont be as vicious as the one I had before because stupid ass MC computers are WACK and did not save and publish my post properly so here will I be writing it again.

ANYWAY I am happy to see Hip Hop is still well and alive and that people respect real MUSIC with Jadakiss 3rd solo album he has hit the 100k mark of sells in his first week. I am happy for my man Jada because he brought FIRE to this album he did job especially having legendary people in the game on here from Busta and Swiss putting some work on this. Hopefully Jada's numbers still make moves and get higher and higher. Even though I personally have my own copy I was still very skeptical on how much jada was goin to do with his sells in the first week not because Jada cant make dope tracks because if you heard this you know he did but I was more doubtful in "YOU" the listeners because 1: people don't really go out and cop Cd's anymore and 2: Kiss is not hitting what they call "WHITE AMERICA" in the music world. The reason I say that is because you have wack artist like Flo Rida dropping numbers because "they" love him, and "THEY" as in the people who just listen to crap on the radio and classify it as hip hop that's not hip hop JADAKISS is Hip Hop I am happy to see people realizing that and hope he gets bigger with it. So I am expecting calls from a lot of folks saying I was wrong on his numbers but I will accept it because I am glad he did Let this movement stay alive and endorse good music HIP HOP is still here
